Hendersonville’s Seventh Avenue district will soon be the home of Brevard Hemp’s third and newest location.

The plan is to have a grand opening on March 1, according to Chief Executive Officer Catherine Artzt. The store is at 514 Seventh Ave., near White Duck Taco Shop.

Brevard Hemp opened its first location in early 2019 and sells a variety of natural CBD products. CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-psychoactive cannabinoid found in hemp (Cannabis sativa) and has grown significantly in popularity over the years for its range of uses.

Artzt said there were many reasons Hendersonville stood out when deciding where to expand the business.

“Like our hometown of Brevard, we love that Hendersonville has a passionate local base, as well as a strong pull for tourists coming to visit the mountains and experience our lovely towns. We also love that Hendersonville has designed its downtown areas so that small, independently run businesses can thrive and flourish. It’s clear by even a single trip to Hendersonville that the town is growing and emerging; we are looking forward to joining in,” Artzt said.

The opportunity to be part of the growth on Seven Avenue is exciting for the business, Artzt added. Seventh Avenue has attracted an increasing number of small businesses over recent years, including several restaurants, shops and breweries.

“Community involvement is core to our being, and we look forward to offering new services alongside the fantastic established businesses in the area. The Seventh Avenue district is a perfect fit for us, as it is conveniently located and walkable for folks in town, but easy to access from main thoroughfares through Hendersonville. We are excited to be part of the community there,” Artzt explained.

Brevard Hemp already has a base of customers traveling from Hendersonville to its stores in Brevard and Mills River.

Artzt said they are looking forward to having a location closer to their home. “We are also excited to service the friends and family of our current customers, as well as the community at large.”

Artzt said Brevard Hemp’s greatest distinction is a commitment to quality and transparency.

“Every product sold at our shops is batch traceable and has full panel testing completed. Currently, hemp products in North Carolina are not legally required to be tested for the same contaminants that food and supplements are tested for,” Artzt said.

“We ensure that every product sold at our shops has been tested for microbial contamination, metals, pesticides and potency to ensure that the customer is getting a safe and standardized product every time they shop with us.”

Customers can follow their batch numbers online to view their full panel testing certificates, according to Artzt.

“We also pride ourselves on education and commitment to each customer, and will spend as much time as needed with each person to determine which product will help them and their family the most for the best value,” Artzt continued.

“In addition, we work hard to keep prices low and affordable, so that our products can be accessible to everyone. Our company is woman- and BIPOC-owned and operated, living-wage certified, and we offer 1% of profits back to local conservation efforts each year.”

Brevard Hemp’s online store shows items such as oral oils, capsules, topicals, edibles, flower, vape, pet products, bath bombs, extracts and more.

The Hendersonville location will staff two retail associates, who undergo training to become experts in CBD.

Artzt said Brevard Hemp’s biggest goal is always to help the community master their health and find wellness through natural alternatives.

“By expanding into Hendersonville, we are able to provide safe and effective products at a price that is affordable enough to take every day,” Artzt said. “We are looking forward to expanding our customer base, and helping more people find relief from the everyday issues they face.”
